The Eclectic Interior: An Expression of the Soul

In partnership with Beacon Hill textiles, Christie’s has launched an exciting series of exhibitions that bring together extraordinary objects from Christie’s Interiors sales with bespoke textiles from the Beacon Hill collection.  The inaugural exhibition in the series is The Eclectic Interior: An Expression of the Soul, a grouping of four design vignettes (pictured on right) now on display in the Robert Allen | Beacon Hill showroom in Manhattan’s celebrated Decoration & Design (D&D) Building - a mecca for interior designers, architects, and their discerning clients.

Each of the four vignettes pairs items from an upcoming Christie’s Interiors sale with a bespoke Beacon Hill fabric, illustrating how seemingly disparate objects can speak a common language through color, texture and motif.  Grounded in the principle of harmonic convergence, The Eclectic Interior: An Expression of the Soul blends the old with the new and the classic with the contemporary to inspiring effect.  At times surprising, and at other times playful, the vignettes demonstrate what today’s most dynamic designers already know: that luxury is no longer a display of polish and expense, but a measure of quality and substance. In short, home become an expression of the soul.

The objects in this exhibition will be sold at Christie’s Interiors auction on 16-17 December. The fabrics, part of Beacon Hill’s upcoming Luxury Naturals collection, will be available from Beacon Hill in January 2010.

Christie's clientele are invited to view the vignettes at Robert Allen | Beacon Hill showroom. For more information on Beacon Hill, visit www.beaconhilldesign.com.
