FIRST EDITION IN BOOK FORM, PRESENTATION COPY TO W.W. JACOBS. Wells wanted this work to be read in conjunction with Anticipations and The Discovery of the Future. Once again, the inference of his comic drawing seems to be that Jacobs is unaware of the threats hanging over him and should be taking a deeper interest in the issues explored inside Wells's book. Hammond E4.
