Lot Essay

The vendor of the jacket became good friends with Marc Bolan in the early 1970s, while he was living in Little Venice. It is believed that Tommy Roberts, of Mr. Freedom, designed the jacket for Bolan to wear in the 1972 Apple Film Born To Boogie. Bolan wears the jacket during a studio scene singing Tutti-Frutti with Ringo Starr on drums and Elton John on piano. A further clip of the studio shows Bolan in this same jacket singing Children Of The Revolution. Bolan gave the jacket to his friend at the end of an evening of ...drinking beers.
