Each rectangular padded back, armrests and cushion covered in yellow striped silk, on molded cabriole legs joined by an X-form stretcher with foliate-carved scrolled feet, regilt (4)

This form of chair is closely related to a drawing for a chair with a similar square padded back, scrolled legs and stretcher made for the Dauphin at Versailles, illustrated in P. Thornton, Seventeenth Century Interior Decoration in England, France & Holland, New Haven, 1978, p. 234, pl. 223.
