A man watering flowers in a window box

Professor Siegfried Wichmann suggested that our painting was executed by an artist in the 'Circle of Carl Spitzweg'. The technique of the subject would date the picture circa 1845 but the late canvas-stamp on the reverse was not used before the 1880's.
