'Afterthought' is one of the last pieces designed by Ron Arad in 2007. It is inspired from the preceding model, 'Southern Hemisphere', demonstrating the artist's exploration into the boundaries between furniture and sculpture. The model was executed in three examples, each slightly different in matter or design and hence each unique: the second in patinated steel and bronze, the third in polished steel with red interior

Lot Essay

Afterthought est l'une des dernières pièces réalisées par Ron Arad en 2007. Il est directement inspiré du modèle précédent, Southern Hemisphere qui marque déjà l'intérêt de l'artiste pour l'exploration de la frontière entre le meuble et la sculpture. Il est réalisé à trois exemplaires, chacun légèrement différent par sa matière ou son dessin et donc chacun pièce unique, le second en acier patiné et bronze, le troisième en acier poli avec intérieur rouge
