Lot Essay

When my friend Audrey Hepburn moved into her new house in Switzerland "La Paisible", close to Lausanne, I decided to give her two white ceramic greyhounds to flank the mantel piece in her living room. Audrey loved animals, and dogs in particular. She liked white as well, so the dogs would be white. When Audrey passed away, her son Sean gave them to me in memory of our friendship.

Today, I am happy to sell this wonderful souvenir through Christie's and wish that the proceeds of this sale contributes to make life easier to the children of Le Kinkeliba, wishes that Audrey would have shared with me.
