The openwork ivory guardsticks, sticks and slips with swaying floral sprays, the leaf painted with a central medallion depicting a scene in the women's quarter during a Qajar wedding flanked by four smaller portraits of youths and two large medallions with rose bushes, the reverse with a central roundel showing the newly-weds on a sofa being entertained and flanked by cusped medallions depicting episodes of Persian epics, Layla wa Majnun, a register of calligraphic cartouches in blue and red thuluth script above and below
