    Naturalistically modelled as a young chap seated astride a barrel, wearing a buttoned coat and holding a flask and a goblet, the barrel inscribed AB S N2 and fitted with a faucet consisting of a campana-shaped handle above an animal spout, on marbled quadruped square base (without cover)

    The inscription on the barrel probably indicates the cryptical abbreviation of absinth, a fearce and lethal spirit from bygone days. This model was copied in Japanese porcelain after Delft originals.
