A CHINESE BRASS MINIATURE STRIKING TABLE CLOCK WITH DUPLEX ESCAPEMENT
19th Century
CASE: with foliate mounts, the pagoda top surmounted by a flambeau urn finial, brass handles over pierced repoussé side frets, on scroll and acanthus leaf feet; later gilding
DIAL: blue enamel with gilt-painted floral spandrels to white enamel painted chapter disc and gilt-painted bowl of fruit to the arch, blued steel hands (replaced)
MOVEMENT: with twin chain fusee, engraved balance cock for steel balance to duplex escapement, rack strike on bell, scroll and foliate engraving and 'nonsense' signature to the back plate; winding key
8¾ in. (22.5 cm.) high; 4¼ in. (11 cm.) wide; 3 in. (7.5 cm.) deep
