The title of this work One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is based on a novel written in 1962 by author Ken Kesey. The plot's antagonist mobilizes an internal coup against the authoritative nurse in charge of a ward in a mental hospital. Regulation and oppressive control reign over the helpless patients fighting for their independence. Mohammad Rawas in this work presents a political allegory commenting on power, authority, and individuality on what appears to be a satellite image of his hometown Beirut. Rawas's depiction of simulations, and heroes extracted from pop culture is reference to modern day warfare.
