According to Dr. Patricia Hills, the present work is a study for a major portrait of Edwina Booth, now in the collection of Amherst College, Amherst, Massachusetts.

This painting will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the artist's work being compiled by Dr. Patricia Hills.
