MADONNA'S VEIL FROM LIKE A VIRGIN VIDEO
A veil of ivory silk chiffon worn by Madonna as part of her bridal costume in the promotional video for "Like A Virgin," 1984, the veil, made by innovative Japanese designer Kazuko, trimmed at the edges with pearls and vintage silver beads is accompanied by images of Madonna wearing the veil.
The album Like A Virgin was released towards the end of 1984, and the single went to No. 1 in December where it remained for six weeks. The success of this second album catapulted Madonna to worldwide fame. The designer, Kazuko, retained the veil following the filming of the video in Venice. Most famous for her jewelery designs, her work has been the highlight of exhibitions in various New York City galleries.
