Christie’s Asia Internship Program
Christie’s offers internship to graduates and undergraduates who have expressed interest in the art market, as well as the auction business in the Asia region. The internship gives the individuals opportunity to handle arts related research in a business environment and exposure to the operations of business.
The internship usually lasts two to six months, depending on seasonal business operation and availability of the candidate. It does not represent a job opening.
The responsibilities of the Intern will include:
- Working with designated departments on art research / archive projects / business development projects
- Maintenance of department libraries and creation and update of database
- Assist in the production of auction catalogues
- Assist the designated departments in major exhibitions and auctions preparation
Structure
Christie's offers Spring, Summer and Fall internships in specialist departments and selected support departments. Successful applicants will be placed in available positions according to their interests and background, which will expose them to the operations of an auction house as they perform various administrative/clerical tasks.
Terms, Conditions and Payment
Successful interns are offered a fixed-term temporary contract. Internships are unpaid but interns will be entitled to a basic allowance.
Enrollment
All applicants must have authorization to work in the country they are interested in doing an internship. Christie's does not sponsor visas for the internship program.
Skill requirements
Mature individual with an expressed interest in arts. The individual must have good language skills and some work experience would be an advantage but not a must.
