In the Asian Contemporary and 20th Century Chinese Art Evening Sales, a number of new world records were set, notably by Zeng Fanzhi, Yue Minjun, Liao Chi Ch’un, and Chen Chengbo. Christie’s also presented one of the strongest groupings of Asian Contemporary and Chinese 20th Century Art ever seen at auction for the respective Day Sales with exceptional results and record prices for such artists as Wang Huaiqing, Zhang Xiaogang, Liu Ye, Mr., Thukral & Tagra, Kang Hyung Koo, Hisashi Tenmyouya, T.V. Santhosh, Subodh Gupta and Kim Dong Yoo. Such consistent, record-breaking results and steadfast seasonal growth firmly establish Christie's position as the market leader in this category.
