Join us for London Art Now,  Christie’s Education 5-day Contemporary Art summer school. Using London as its classroom, this is a stimulating, accessible and informative series of specialist-led sessions, which will be held in important galleries, museum collections and temporary exhibitions, alongside visits to artists' studios, emerging galleries, and 'alternative' exhibition spaces.

Olympia to Christendom: The Transformation in Early Christian Art - Summer School
26-29 June 2017

This course explores Early Christian imagery in wall paintings and monumental mosaics, in ivories, metalwork, manuscripts and icons. We analyse and question major visual concepts, such as the representation of Christ and of the Virgin.

The Christie's Art Business Certificate
The Art Business Certificate is designed for newcomers wishing to gain in-depth knowledge of all aspects of art business as well as giving access to up-to-date information and new analytical methods for those already in the art world as professionals. The course is modular with each module designed to complement one another to give an over­all picture of the industry. The sessions are presented by carefully selected specialists including artists, auctioneers, curators, dealers, economists, historians, journalists, lawyers, marketeers and valuers.

The London Art Course: Modern and Contemporary Art
Students will learn about the formal innovations in the use of materials, exploration of ideas, exhibition strategies and the influence of political and social change on artists.Designed as a year-long course, the London Art Course offers a comprehensive introduction to Modern and Contemporary art in the late 19thcentury until the present day. You have maximum flexibility and choice: you can sign up for the whole year, or for one or two terms. However, participants would benefit from taking the entire year-long course to have a full view of this important period in the history of art.

The London Art Circle – Renaissance to Romanticism
Join us at Christie’s South Kensington every Monday night for a new programme designed for people who wish to follow art and the art market from a more informed perspective and meet people with similar interests, and timed to accommodate those with busy schedules.

This course charts a chronological course through Western art history by focusing on specific examples from a variety of significant periods. Touching on a wide range of media - from fresco to oil paint, wood to marble, drawing to printmaking - and a variety of locations - from Italy to Flanders, Germany to Holland, England to Spain and France - this course will introduce participants to the rich diversity of art making from the 14th to the 18th century.

The London Art Circle – Neoclassicism to Contemporary Art

Join us at Christie’s South Kensington every Monday night for a new programme designed for people who wish to follow art and the art market from a more informed perspective and meet people with similar interests, and timed to accommodate those with busy schedules.

The aim of this course is to trace the development of art from the end of the eighteenth century to the twenty first century. In order to make sense of modern art and contemporary art we will explore changes and developments in painting, sculpture, photography and architecture in Europe and the United States. No extra reading is needed although useful books will be suggested. Each lecture stands alone although participants will also enjoy understanding the development over the weeks.
