September 7 – September 13

This week: The sculptural oeuvre of Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne goes on display on Park Avenue; designer Yves Behar puts an interesting twist on bottled water, and Saatchi partners with Christie’s to sell a Chinese contemporary art collection.

  • The work of Lalannes moves outdoors From September 13, eight of the French couple’s monumental sculptures, including a riotous copper and bronze cabbage sporting chicken feet and a flock of 12 bronze sheep, will make up the first large outdoor Lalanne exhibition in the US. From FT.com
  • Yves Behar Design for just $2 In the age of sustainability and health awareness, Y Water sets out not only to concoct a nutritional alternative to beverages, but also to come up with a unique bottle, designed by fuseprojects founder Yves Behar, that can be collected and reused as a puzzle. • Saatchi to sell in China at Christie's Despite a widely publicized partnership that Charles Saatchi forged with Phillips de Pury & Co. last year in which he agreed to sell predominantly through the auction house, the super-collector has now stated that he will sell some of his Chinese contemporary art in China and unload a handful of other works at Christie’s in London.
