On 10 December, Christie’s presents a collection of jewels from Carroll Petrie, an icon of international society and philanthropy. Highlighting the collection is an impressive diamond ring by Harry Winston. Set with a pear-shaped modified brilliant-cut diamond weighing approximately 24.34 carats, the ring combines some of the most desirable features a diamond collector can ask for with its D color and VVS1 clarity. Furthermore, it belongs to the Type IIb group, which are some of the rarest naturally occurring diamonds, with a colorless diamond being the rarest of the rare. Mrs. Petrie’s collection also encompasses jewels by some of the world’s greatest makers, including Van Cleef & Arpels, David Webb and notably, Jean Schlumberger, who offers some of the most striking pieces of the collection.
