MULTIPLIED 2015From acid baths to robots — an illustrated glossary of printmaking termsRead more
‘I’ve always described the way I work as an oak tree,’ explains Sir Peter Blake from the comfort of his printmaking studio in London. ‘The trunk is that I’m a straightforward figurative painter, and the branches are excursions into other mediums.’
At Multiplied 2015, the UK’s only fair devoted exclusively to contemporary art in editions (Christie’s South Kensington, 16-18 October), Blake will be showing a selection of works. Here, the artist talks through his approach to printmaking and the thinking behind some of his latest work: the Tower Ballroom at Blackpool series, the silkscreen series he has made of The Wrestlers, and his Found Art series. More of Sir Peter Blake’s silkscreen prints can be viewed at CCA Galleries.
