On 14 October Christie's Paris will have the privilege of offering property from the dynasty who reigned in France for almost 1,000 years.

Nearly 500 lots will be offered for sale, most of which were housed in the family’s apartment on Rue de Miromesnil. The contents of this apartment reflect a sober elegance including rare, historical and intimate objects composed of paintings, jewellery, miniatures, furniture, works of art and silver pieces.

The sale will feature personal items belonging to various members of the royal family, including a purse embroidered by Queen Marie–Antoinette herself during her captivity in the Temple. The Study for the Portrait of the Comte de Paris by François Xavier Winterhalter (1805–1873) will also be offered for sale; many of Winterhalter‘s portraits, representing different family members from the Orléans dynasty are exhibited in Versailles.

Among the rare sets of romantic jewellery, we will discover four bracelets from the personal collection of Marie–Amélie des Deux Siciles, France's last queen. Several of the pieces are signed by François Meuret (1800–1887), one of the most famous miniaturists of the 19th Century.

Among the furniture and silver pieces decorating the apartment is an ensemble of modern and classical pieces of furniture from Italy, Portugal, Germany and Holland, including a very elegant silver and gilt dinner set from the late 19th Century by Odiot and Prevost.

This is a royal occasion that is not to be missed. We look forward to seeing you on 14 October at avenue Matignon.
