A boardroom waterline display model of the bulk carrier M.V. Bishopsgate, originally built by Sir James Laing & Sons Ltd., Sunderland, for the Bishopsgate Shipping Co. Ltd., London 1960,
with signal masts, anchors, winch, fairleads, bollards, ventilators, deck rails, companionways, deck winches, hatches, aft superstructure with bridge and crew accommodation, awning staunchions, three boats in davits, derricks and other details. The hull, finished in brown, black, green-grey and white, is mounted on a painted moulded and carved seascape, display base with legend (some old damage, cover missing) -- 8 x 42¼in. (20 x 107.3cm.)
