    Cut down from a conoid, the convex oval engraved with a bearded worshipper standing with his arms raised before a winged, human-headed bird-lion, a crescent moon above, on a groundline; mounted as a pendant in a modern gold setting, with a cabochon ruby on the suspension loop

    The 22k gold setting was the work of the late Louise Parrish and Winifred Wager in 1987. Parrish was a teacher of ancient and classical jewelry in New York at the Kulicke Stark Academy of Jewelry Arts and later at the Jewelry Arts Institute. Together with with her longtime friend Winifred Wager she founded the firm of Parrish/Wager, which specialized in classical and contemporary handmade gold pieces.
