    NEW KINGDOM, DYNASTY XIX, 1307-1196 B.C.
    Cast in the form of a jackal head, well-modelled, with alert upright pointed ears, the eyes inlaid in obsidian and white stone, presumably limestone, the cosmetic lines and conforming brows recessed for now-missing inlays, a ridge between the eyes extending along the long snout, the mouth tightly closed, the long neck arched at the poll, the interior hollow, centered by a pointed tenon for attachment to a staff
