    The first with blued barrel signed in full, blued cylinder retained by Adams' 1854 arbor-latch, blued 'Improved' frame inscribed 'Adams' Patent, No.21632.R', fitted with 1854 safety-bolt on the right, 1854 rammer and safety-catch on the left, chequered walnut butt, and much original finish, London proof marks; the second No.1039, with blued barrel fitted with blued rammer moving on a separate pivot lever, engraved frame of Webley-Bently type, chequered walnut grips, and some original finish, Birmingham proof marks
