    The first with slender blade decorated on both sides over its full length with punched and engraved celestial patterns punctuated by small etched subjects over its lower half, including the owner's coat-of-arms and a Dutch inscription, and the hilt formed entirely of brass (originally gilt); and the second with very slender blade of stiff-diamond section, broad ricasso grooved for the thumb, plain iron hilt including solid triangular guard, compressed pommel, and wire-bound grip
