    A FINE ETCHED FULL ARMOUR IN THE GERMAN STYLE OF CIRCA 1530
    19TH CENTURY
    Comprising close helmet with two-piece skull rising to a low cabled comb, strongly formed 'bellows' visor, the base of the skull and the bevor each flanged for turning on the gorget, and fitted with plume-holder at the rear (pivot bolts and washers replaced), gorget of three plates front and rear, breast-plate of globose form with roped pronounced flanges at the neck and arm gussets, the latter moving on sliding rivets, fitted with waist-plate and skirt of three lames, tassets each of four lames, and lance-rest, matching back-plate with waist-plate and skirt, a pair of full arm defences including correctly asymmetrical spaulders fitted with haute-pieces, a pair of mitten-gauntlets, a pair of full leg defences including 'bear-paw' sabatons with embossed toe-caps, decorated throughout with etched bands of scrolling foliage involving putti, animals, exotic birds, and monsters, the breast-plate incorporating a panel bearing the etched inscription 'Solo Deo Gloria', and with matching turned roped edges throughout (sold without a stand).
