    Arabic manuscript on brown paper, 414ff. plus 3 fly-leaves, each folio with 13ll. of large black muhaqqaq with occasional words or phrases picked out in gold, catchwords, gold and polychrome rosette verse markers, red Persian interlinear translation, every folio with large red marginal notes with smaller black translation, sura headings in gold on a ground of red hatching with polychrome floral decoration and panels of arabesques often issuing polychrome medallions into the margins, the opening bifolio with gold and polychrome illumination surrounding the text panels, three further illuminated bifolios within the text, areas of waterstaining, marginal repairs to many folios, some text reinked, in plain red morocco with flap
