8° (187 x 110mm). Engraved frontispiece portrait after Cochin by St. Aubin, 9 plates after Marillier by Née. (Final plate waterstained, some marginal soiling and spotting, occasional stains to text.) Contemporary crimson morocco gilt by N.-D. Derome le Jeune with his ticket, covers with arms of the Dauphin Louis-Joseph-François-Xavier (1781-1789), triple fillet border, flat spine directly lettered and with a small round tool in each compartment, gilt inner dentelles, marbled endpapers, silk marker, gilt edges (front armorial slightly tarnished, slight wear on lower cover, extremities a little rubbed and bumped, front inner hinges split). Provenance: The Dauphin (binding) -- 'Doner a madame la Baronne de Mackau la mere par M. le Dauphin. 1786' (contemporary inscription on front free endpaper) -- Mortimer L.
