    12° (149 x 84 mm). Woodcut device on title-page, woodcut headpiece and letter. (A few pale stains.) 18th-century French red morocco gilt, spines in 6 compartments with 5 raised bands, gilt-lettered in one, the rest gilt (corners lightly bumped). Provenance: E. Fiedler (ownership stamp); S.a. [...] Tintenis? (ownership signature dated 1831).

    Third edition, published in the same year as the “seconde edition” (so stated on the title-page) of the same year; this edition without the errata (as called for in Brunet), with the text uncorrected, and with one leaf granting the privilege to Michallet. “Cette réimpression, assez belle” (Brunet). Bruyère’s work comprises his translation of Theophrastus, as well as essays and discussions about the economy, the nobility, and poverty. Brunet III: 720; Tchemerzine IV, p. 310.
