'we, the old original amateurs of that very small theatre in Dean Street are going to act twice at Covent Garden for the benefit of Mr Leigh Hunt whose distinguised literary name and duties are, no doubt, known to you'; Dickens hopes that the actress, Julia Sarah Hayfield Fortescue (1817-99), will play her old part in Every Man in his Humour and Mrs Ford in the Merry Wives of Windsor, mentions future performances in Manchester and Liverpool and plans to send Miss Fortescue a list of rehearsal calls for Covent Garden.
