    8o (221 x 141 mm). Frontispiece, vignette title and 38 plates by George Cruikshank (lightly browned). (Some offsetting of plates onto text, one or two pale stains.) Original purple cloth, covers decorated in blind, spine lettered in gilt, uncut (spine lightly faded to brown, extremities slightly bumped); quarter red morocco gilt slipcase. Provenance: Kenyon Starling (bookplate).

    FIRST SINGLE VOLUME EDITION, bound from the monthly parts. With the plate "Parish Engine" bound between pages 4 and 5, all plates before "Greenwich Fair" (at p. 120) without the Chapman & Hall imprint. Eckel, p. 15; Smith I: 1 p. 16 (note).
