    Together 18 volumes, 8o (245 x 165 mm). (Volumes 1-7 with marginal repairs occasionally crossing the text, some gutters renewed, all lightly browned and with some spotting.) Original printed blue paper wrappers to the last 5 volumes, the others in modern wrappers (some light soiling, a bit chipped); green morocco gilt slipcase. Provenance: Stephen M. Dryfoos (bookplate); Kenyon Starling (bookplate).

    FIRST EDITIONS, including the well-known stories: The Haunted House, A Message from the Sea, Tom Tiddler's Ground, Somebody's Luggage, Mrs Lirriper's Lodgings, Mrs. Lirriper's Legacy, Doctor Marigold's Prescriptions, Mugby Junction, No Thoroughfare (with Wilkie Collins), and several others. The Household Words numbers were issued without wrappers. Yale/Gimbel E11-21, E113-118.
