    2o (318 x 214 mm). Wide woodcut title border by Urs Graf, colored in a contemporary hand, two other woodcut borders, numerous woodcut initials in text, woodcut printer's device at end. (Some minor worming at beginning.) Contemporary blindstamped calf over wooden boards, border of triple fillets, the compartments stamped with an owl and a double headed eagle tool, around a central lozenge and triangle pattern, each compartment stamped with a floral tool, evidence of two clasps (upper cover detached, tape repair along gutter). Provenance: Nicolaus Wilson, 1667 (gift inscription on A2).

    Later edition. Erasmus expanded his annotated collection of Greek and Latin proverbs over the years. It was first published in Paris in 1500. Adams E-431.
