    FLOYD COLLECTS THE RENT ON HIS FRONTIER LAND. Floyd had lived on Long Island but fled when the British seized control; his mansion was used as a barracks and the property ruined by the end of the war. He turned his attention to upstate New York and purchased large tracts of land. Here, he deals with a tenant in arrears: "I William Floyd of the Town of Western in the County of Oneida and State of New York, do Constitute and appoint William Floyd Jun. my lawful agent to go and in my name and stead to make a reentry on [161] Acres of land in...Fonda's Patent for the deficiency of [$90] rent due...which was formerly included in a lease given to Reuben Putney there being two years rent due and unpaid...."
