    8° (220 x 130mm). Half-title, hand-coloured engraved frontispiece, 3 engraved plates, (of which 2 folding), original pen and wash drawings for 2 of the plates bound in, final errata leaf, two pages of manuscript notes by William Beckford. (Extremely light very occasional spotting.) Contemporary red straight-grained morocco gilt, panelled covers decorated in blind, spine decorated in gilt and blind, edges marbled and gilt [by Walther?] (extremities very lightly rubbed).
    Provenance: William Jackson Hooker (ink inscription 'From the Author' to preliminary blank) -- William Beckford (mss notes to prelims; Sotheby's 14th December 1882, lot 888) -- The Rt. Hon. The Earl of Rosebery (bookplate; Sotheby's, 27th October, 1972, lot 140).
