Between 1831-1832 he visited the Punjab, Kashmir, Malabar, the Coast of Coromandel and Bombay. Jacquemont was one of the rising stars of French natural history, combining youth, genius and a rhapsodic love for nature. His continual exertions under difficult conditions led to an early death in the Himalayas. (2)
