(Lacks the portrait, 14 maps affected by worming, a few only very lightly, 15 maps with repairs on verso, including 8 maps with extensive repairs, 2 maps detached, some light soiling, a few stains, several maps a little creased). Contemporary vellum, manuscript title on spine (lightly soiled and creased, small wormhole in front cover).

    Magini's attractive atlas provides a comprehensive series of Italian maps for the first part of the 17th century, combining the traditional styles of the Italian map maker with features used in North European mapping, such as the 'Mercator' style wavy lines for the sea patterns.
