    MILITARY UNIFORMS -- A collection of plates from Sobranie Mundirov Rossiiskoi Imperatorskoi Armii. [Costumes of the Russian Imperial Army.] St. Petersburg: [c.1832-1837.]

    2° (420 x 320mm). 64 hand-coloured lithographs with captions in Russian and French by Fedorov and Belousov. (Some white pigment oxidized in some plates of the infantry uniforms.) 19th-century red morocco, sides richly panelled in gilt and blind, edges gilt, green endpapers (minor rubbing). Provenance: William VIII, Duke of Brunswick (1806-1884; armorial bookplate).

    A COLLECTION OF RARE, FINELY HAND-COLOURED PLATES, IN RED MOROCCO, FROM THE LIBRARY OF WILLIAM, DUKE OF BRUNSWICK. The plates are drawn from the Life-Guards sections of Fedorov and Bolousov's superb work, including: Hussars, Dragoons, Don Cossacks, Pioneers, Grand Duke Michael Lancers, Preobrazhenskii and Semenovskii Guards, and others.
