    3 parts in one volume, 2o (312 x 210 mm). Double-page title. 8 woodcut illustrations, including plans of Venice, Naples, Rome and Genoa. (Corners of last 23 leaves repaired, affecting some numbers in the pagination.) 19th-century red morocco by Pratt. Provenance: Edward Cleaveland Sweeney (bookplate).

    FIRST EDITION. Moryson spent from 1591 to 1597 travelling through Europe and the Levant, and earned the reputation of being "a sober-minded and veracious traveller." The Latin version of his Itinerary was never published. Brunet III:1919; Lowndes p. 1621; Pine-Coffin 5931; STC 18205.
