Paris: Arthus Bertrand, [1841]. 2 volumes, 2° (540 x 350mm). 133 plates, of which 76 tinted lithographs and 57 line engravings. (Titles lightly creased, soiled and mounted on guards, half of the text evenly browned, tiny marginal hole to plate 22, spotting and browning throughout, with about one-third of the plates heavily browned or spotted, 15 plates with light marginal dampstaining, 12 plates with short marginal tears, some with old repairs, last plate very slightly frayed at fore-edge, 6 plates with heavier marginal soiling.) 20th-century blue library cloth (extremities rubbed and scuffed). Provenance: Glasgow University Library (cancelled stamps to verso of titles).
