    7 vols, 8° (240 x 160mm). Mostly uncut and unopened, with the original deckle edges, plates some of which folding. Some adverts laid-in. (Occasional scattered spotting, occasional light wear, a very few gatherings loose or detached.) Original printed wrappers (some chips and tears).

    UNCUT IN THE ORIGINAL PRINTED WRAPPERS. 7 volumes for the year 1834, including 5 contributions by Pushkin: 'Skazka o mertvoi Tsarevne i o semi bogatyriakh', 'Krasavitsa', 'Elegiia', 'Kirdzhali' and 'Peterburg'. Other contributors include Krylov ('Razboinik i Izvoshchik - Lev i Mysh'), Zhukovskii, Glinka, Baron Brambeus, Ushakov and many others. Smirdin's Library for Reading 'played a significant role in the history of Russian periodicals and the professionalization of Russian authors' (Smirnov-Sokol'ski).
