Autograph letter signed ('Rupert') to an unidentified correspondent, Newport [Shropshire], 17 May 1645, having been prevented from writing sooner for want of a messenger but now reporting Sir John Price's success at Montgomery Castle and that 'the Ennemys have drawne their Cannon from Harding [i.e. Hawarden] Castle', one page, folio, docket; [with] an autograph letter signed by Queen HENRIETTA MARIA to [Louis XIII of France], [London, after 1625], in French, sending an assurance of her constant affection by 'Monsieur de Saint George' [Sir Henry St George] and desiring to remain in her brother's good graces, one page, 4to.
