    SHAW, Stebbing (1762-1802). The History and Antiquities of Staffordshire. London: J. Nichols, 1798. Volume I only. 2°. 42 engraved plates, one with hand-colouring, one double-page, engraved illustrations (title repaired on verso, lacks map, some mainly marginal staining). Later half leatherette (rather worn). Provenance: Joseph Harding (later signature on front pastedown). Upcott III, 1176. The first part of a second volume was also published, not here present, but the work was unfinished owing to the author's death.
