    The rosewood backboard of typical shield shaped form, surmounted by two turned pinnacle finials, the hollow reverse accommodating the pendulum, arched pendulum aperture, the rosewood case with four spiral twist corner pillars, glazed side doors, the front surmounted by a pierced cast brass fret depicting Faith, Hope and Love, the side frets depicting two lions bearing a plain shield and inscribed NU ELCK SYN SIN, the black velvet covered brass dial (possibly associated) with indistinct inscriptions to the reverse and with brass winged cherub spandrels to the brass chapter ring inscribed Cornelis Van Rossen/op de Kooch, sword hilt half hour markers, brass hands, short duration brass movement, wheels with bifurcated spokes, verge escapement, Dutch countwheel strike on two bells above surmounted by the figure of Atlas, the alarm mounted to the top of the movement; four brass pear shaped weights, pendulum
