    The box with some alterations and lacking gimbals and front roundal, the 75 mm. diameter engraved dial signed 'No.72/CHARLES YOUNG', recessed seconds, gold main hands and blued steel seconds, the single chain fusee movement with recessed detent escapement, three-arm bimetallic balance with unusual sprung stud to blued steel flat balance spring; later winding key

    Charles Young is known for using unusual escape wheels with epicycloidal teeth. The movement to this chronometer is quite typical of his work, employing a three-armed balance and spring stud.
