    A Polish gilt-brass quarter-striking and repeating hexagonal table clock
    Jacob Staigier, Lubelin. Second half 18th Century
    The case set on turned feet and with silvered frames to glazed panels on all sides, the hinged base plate with steel sprung catch and set with a large bell secured with brass strap, the dial with florally engraved centre and shell engraving to the corners, engraved brass Roman and Arabic chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, strike/silent square at 55, blued steel hands, the one day movement with hexagonal plates joined by six back-pinned ringed pillars, with fixed gilded and engraved barrels for the strike trains and chain and fusee for the going train, verge and balance escapement with gilt pierced and engraved balance bridge, silvered and engraved regulation disc to its side, twin racks on the front plate for hour and quarter strike, repeat lever through the side of the case, with single engraved boar head hammer for the hour and two conforming hammers for the quarters, all striking on the large bell in the base, the back plate signed Jacob Staigier a Lublin
