    A number of horlogers from the Paliard family of Besançon are recorded in the 18th century, including Claude-Antoine Paliard, who was recorded in Paris in 1747, Pierre Jean Baptiste Paliard, who married in 1732, and Jacques Paliard, who was recorded active in 1741.
