    The copper drum inset with a brass dial with silvered Roman chapter ring, revolving while the dial stays fixed, supported by a pedestal cast with art nouveau designs and engraved with a monogram CL, with aneroid barometer to one side, the plinth applied with a silvered plaque engraved 1887/TURBINE à DRAGÉES/Système C. Leclaire, the twin barrels movement with cylinder escapement and strike on bell, stamped L.R. and Marti, with independent single barrel for the automaton in the plinth, its winding escutcheon engraved A. BORIUS

    The dragées turbine is a machine for continuously and uniformly coating confectionary. 'Dragées' are sugar-coated almonds, a traditional French sweet.
