    From the Shahnama, gouache heightened with gold on paper, Alexander on horseback engages in battle with an Indian horsemen whilst a slain archer falls off his elephant, his helmet and shield laying on the battlefield, a group of horsemen follow Alexander carrying arms and standards breaking across the margin, in a rocky landscape with blue sky and small Chinese clouds, text of black nasta'liq divided in four columns above and below, a full page with 28ll. of black nasta'liq within four columns with gold rules and blue frame on the reverse, some scuffing, mounted
