    T.E. Hook (1788-1841) was a novelist and wit who edited John Bull and the New Monthly Magazine.
    Henry Hallam (1777-1859) was an historian who established his reputation with A View of the State of Europe during the Middle Ages, 1818, followed by The Constitutional History of England, 1827.
